Nova Scotia Department of Transportation (DOT) calls on RUSafe for their Bridge Rescue Course. Photo shows Jason Comeau being rescued from under a bridge in Musquodoboit by a DOT trainee from the Halifax crew. Personnel often work under bridges and are required to be trained in rescue from these locations.
Arleigh Robar and his crew teach in places most of us would rather avoid. Whether they're 325 feet atop a tower, two miles below the surface of the earth or squeezing into a confined space, they've got one thing on their mind: the security of each and every student.
"We're into changing that person's life," says Arleigh. "We want people to come home safe every night."
In 1993, he established RUSafe Inc. His goal was delivering safety services to the construction industry using a commonsense approach.
His team brings together a diverse background in construction and process management as well as experience in large industry and small family businesses.
RUSafe courses are interactive and include:
RUSafe specializes in providing safety services to meet the needs of small and expanding
companies. It can help streamline your operations to increase efficiency, ease interaction
with inspection agencies, and maximize profits. RUSafe takes pride in coordinating all your safety requirements.
"In the past several years we have developed a highly trained
volunteer High Angular rescue team. The team is comprised of season firemen and various steelworkers from throughout
the plant. We’re trained not only on high angular but confine space rescue, scaffold/ladder rescue, patient packaging,
CPR and First-aid. R-U-Safe has been an essential part of our training. This past October, Mr. Arleigh Robar assisted in
designing our new program of training for our Cleaning Service employees to perform Confine Space rescue.
"In May 2008, we had some excellent training since additional new firemen and volunteers entered the program. I believe
that Mr. Robar's vast knowledge and professionalism could spearhead any size company in developing a Fall Protection
and/or Rescue Program."
